Notice Regarding School Designation for Grade 7 to 9 Students Residing in Martindale

The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) would like to inform you that Crossing Park School is over capacity and is no longer able to accommodate all students who live in Martindale for the 2023-2024 school year and beyond. For this reason, CBE will be capping enrolment at Crossing Park School and designate an overflow school.

Effective for the 2023-2024 school year and until there is no longer a need for an overflow, the following changes will be implemented:

  • A cap on Grade 7-9 enrolment at Crossing Park School.
    • Grade 7-9 students living in the Martindale community who cannot be accommodated at Crossing Park School will now be designated to an overflow school: Clarence Samson School in Pineridge.
  • A lottery will be held for Grade 7 students. Students who are unsuccessful in the lottery process will be designated to the overflow school and placed on a call-back list.

See the notice from Oct. 28, 2022 for more information. The overflow will continue until no longer necessary.

Registration Documentation

The information provided on the registration form must match what is proven with documentation. If the documentation that you provide does not match the address where your child lives or their age, your child will be withdrawn from the school part-way through the year and your child will be transferred to their regular designated program school or the designated overflow location, if necessary.

Please recognize that an abrupt mid-year move can disrupt learning and relationships. More information can be found on the CBE Registration page.

Our School

Regular Program

What is the Regular Program?

The Regular Program spans from kindergarten through grade 12, providing a comprehensive educational experience. In alignment with provincial standards, our curriculum not only integrates academics, arts, and physical education but also emphasizes tailoring the learning adventure to individual strengths and interests. We're all about inclusivity, providing special education resources to support diverse learning needs. Beyond the classroom, students dive into a world of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, music, and community service, making every day exciting. We believe in teamwork, actively encouraging parental involvement through events like parent-teacher conferences, creating a collaborative and supportive educational atmosphere.

Alternative Program

Learning to Fit Each Student's Needs and Interests

Alternative programs provide a distinct educational experience by focusing on specific subjects or languages and engaging students with advanced learning methods or in unique classroom environments. These programs are designed to personalize education to meet students' learning needs and goals. Additionally, some alternative programs may be more flexible regarding schedule or structure, giving students greater control over their learning. Parental involvement is highly encouraged through activities such as parent-teacher conferences and school events.

Meeting

We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to non-Canadian students who are eager to embark on an enriching educational journey with us.
